RoHS IconRestriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
Belden plans on being well ahead of the government and standards regulations currently being set for the RoHS — that is, we expect to be fully compliant by 2006. To check compliance on a specific Belden part number, enter the part number in the search area of the eCatalog. Each RoHS-compliant product will also offer you the option of printing a RoHS certificate that applies specifically to that product. Or, consult the Belden RoHS Part Number List in PDF or Excel formats.

California State Requirements
In a 2002 industry-wide consent judgment, wire, cable and cord manufacturers that supply products with greater than 300ppm of lead in the outer jacket (and which are sold to retail consumers in California) must warn these customers about a potential exposure to lead.

To honor the intent of this judgment, Belden has elected to notify its non-retail (wholesale/distribution) customers of products that contain 300ppm (0.03%), or more, of lead in the outer jacket since these products may require labeling if sold to retail.

Refer to the NEMA Document for more specifics on California Proposition 65. To enable a general understanding of the type of products covered under this law, a complete list of exempt products is offered, as well as a list of non-exempt products.

A list of Belden Exempt Products is provided by part number (standard products than contain ≥ 300ppm of lead in the outer jacket), as is a list of Belden Non-Exempt Products.
